Rainfall forecasted across UAE this week amidst surface depression

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast indicating that the UAE is poised to experience a change in weather conditions due to a surface depression originating from the southwest. This weather phenomenon will bring humid south-easterly winds and the extension of an upper air trough of low pressure.

On Wednesday, the NCM anticipates partly cloudy to cloudy conditions across several areas, particularly in the western and coastal regions, with the possibility of rain, especially during the nighttime hours.

As the week progresses, the upper air trough is expected to deepen, leading to an increase in cloud cover over scattered areas, primarily in the northern, eastern, and coastal regions, accompanied by rainfall and a drop in temperatures. Thursday and Friday are likely to witness these changing weather patterns.

By Saturday, a significant temperature decrease is expected, and cloud cover is anticipated to lessen. Wind conditions will vary from moderate to fresh south-easterly winds, shifting to north-westerly on Friday, and occasionally turning strong over the sea, potentially causing blowing dust and sand.

In terms of sea conditions, the Arabian Gulf is expected to experience rough to very rough waters, while the Oman Sea is likely to have rough sea conditions.
