Man wakes up from coma as ambulance hits pothole on way to funeral

An 80-year-old man, Darshan Singh Brar, presumed dead, miraculously regained consciousness after the ambulance carrying him hit a pothole in Haryana, India. This unusual event occurred on Thursday, January 11.

Darshan Singh, who had been under medical care for a health issue at a local hospital in Patiala, was declared dead by doctors after several days of treatment. Following this declaration, his family started the grim preparations for his last rites, with relatives gathering and arrangements being made for the funeral in his hometown near Karnal.

However, destiny had a different plan. While the ambulance was transporting Darshan Singh’s body, a sudden jolt from a pothole led to an unexpected twist. His grandson, accompanying him in the vehicle, noticed movement in his hand and detected a heartbeat. This observation prompted an immediate diversion to the nearest hospital.

Upon arrival, the medical team conducted a thorough examination and concluded that Darshan Singh was indeed alive, contradicting the earlier declaration of his death. He was promptly admitted to the intensive care unit for further observation and care.

The case baffled the medical community, with Vinny Singla, a surgeon, expressing his inability to explain the phenomenon scientifically. The prior hospital’s declaration of Darshan Singh’s death, despite his subsequent revival, remains a mystery.
