His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the appointment of Sultan AlNeyadi as the new Minister of Youth. This announcement was part of a series of new ministerial appointments made on Saturday.
Sultan AlNeyadi, celebrated as a national hero and the first Arab astronaut to embark on the longest space mission last year, emerged as a prominent figure among numerous nominations. The search for the Minister of Youth commenced in September of the previous year, attracting thousands of applicants within hours.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the criteria for the role during the search, highlighting the need for a candidate who is deeply knowledgeable about the UAE, possesses strength and bravery in representing the nation, and holds a passion for serving the homeland.
AlNeyadi’s appointment reflects his close connection to youth-related issues and his dedication to their advancement and service. Sheikh Mohammed expressed national pride in AlNeyadi’s achievements and his suitability for the role.
In addition to his new ministerial duties, AlNeyadi will continue his scientific and space-related work. Sheikh Mohammed conveyed a powerful message to AlNeyadi and the youth of the UAE, stressing the importance of staying grounded in their land, history, and culture while aiming high.
The Dubai Ruler emphasized the role of youth in enabling the UAE to compete globally, assuring his support in this mission.
