Twenty-two overseas Filipino workers, one of them a dependent, landed safely at NAIA Terminal 3 on the night of September 10 after being flown home from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia aboard Cebu Pacific Flight 5J741. The group had been housed at the Migrant Workers Resource Center in the Saudi capital before their departure.
Government offices coordinated the workers’ return from Riyadh onward, keeping assistance in place throughout the repatriation process. The effort falls under the administration’s broader response to OFW needs, following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to provide Filipino workers with prompt, comprehensive, and compassionate support when they require it.
The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration met the returnees on arrival, handling their processing and immediate concerns. Its aid package covered Special Financial Assistance, meals, temporary lodging, and transportation to help the workers reach their home provinces.
Once back in their communities, the returning workers can also approach OWWA Regional Welfare Offices, which offer additional services geared toward helping them resettle and pursue new opportunities locally.
