A nanny named Sonya Kumar, catering to the children of the wealthy and famous, reportedly earns as much as P14 million annually.
GMA Integrated Newsfeed reported that besides her substantial salary of £200,000 per year, Sonya also receives lavish gifts including designer items.
Sonya’s perks extend beyond her salary, as she has enjoyed vacations at luxury hotels and resorts, all expenses paid. She shared, “Some offer me a gym membership, use of their swimming pools, and private healthcare. I’ve been gifted amazing things like £2,000 wine bottles, a Gucci belt, and La Mer beauty products.”
Starting her career at 17, Sonya invested in additional training to enhance her skills, combined with hard work and dedication. Her efforts paid off when she became a highly-recommended nanny for affluent clients, including diplomats, A-list celebrities, sports personalities, and top business figures across various countries.
Over her 11-year career, Sonya has worked in France, America, Dubai, Greece, Italy, and Barbados. Despite her high salary, her responsibilities mirror those of other nannies, including cooking, cleaning, and attending to the children’s needs. She also tutors them when necessary.
While acknowledging the high remuneration, Sonya admits that the job comes with considerable stress due to the high demands of her high-profile clients.
“The lifestyle and opportunities that come with the job are amazing, but you have to be on the top of your game all the time,” she said.
“There’s a lot of pressure when everything has to be perfect.”
