Over 50 members, guests, and supporters convened at the Majestic Hotel in Juffair recently to commemorate the Fourth Charter Anniversary of the Bahrain Eagles Club, marking four years of camaraderie, solidarity, and service to the Filipino community in Bahrain.
In his inspirational message, His Excellency Gines Jaime Ricardo D. Gallaga, the Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, acknowledged the significant role of the organization and its ongoing commitment to the Filipino community. He praised its members for maintaining connections, demonstrating resilience, and embracing volunteerism, particularly during difficult times when solidarity and support are most essential.
Ambassador Gallaga conveyed his heartfelt gratitude and recognition to the members who supported the Philippine Embassy and their fellow Filipinos during the peak of the regional conflict. He highlighted the crucial contributions of volunteers during this period of uncertainty in organizing efforts and providing assistance especially during the repatriation of Filipinos wishing to return home safely.
He characterized their participation as a genuine demonstration of solidarity, being present and ready to assist when the community required it the most. Their willingness to volunteer, coordinate, and offer support not only showcased their dedication to service but also illustrated the resilience of the Filipino community in challenging times.
Also present was, Labor Attache Dr. Orville A. Ballitoc of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) who delivered a fraternal message and expressed his appreciation for the organization’s continued efforts to bring Filipinos together and extend support to fellow members of the community.
As a longtime member of the Eagles organization in the Philippines, Dr. Ballitoc shared a personal connection with the group, making his presence at the celebration especially meaningful.
He recognized the organization’s commitment to volunteerism and its role in strengthening friendship, cooperation, and solidarity among Filipinos in Bahrain. His attendance further demonstrated the Migrant Workers Office’s (MWO) ongoing commitment to community initiatives that foster connections among Filipinos and enhance their well-being.
Beyond merely being a celebration, the event served as a reminder that the essence of Bayanihan continues to thrive among Filipinos living abroad ever prepared to assist, uplift one another, and positively impact the lives of fellow Filipinos, no matter their location.
Club President Kevin Jules Quirante said the anniversary was more than a celebration, describing it as an opportunity to look back on the organization’s four-year journey and celebrate its commitment to “brotherhood, unity, service, and genuine care” for fellow Filipinos in Bahrain.
Since its chartering on August 12, 2022, the Bahrain Eagles Club has continued to engage in socio-civic and community activities. The organization has also extended assistance to Filipinos in need and strengthened partnerships with other Filipino organizations in Bahrain.
One of its notable community initiatives was its socio-civic program in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, where the club supported a local elementary school and helped organize community services, including a medical mission and assistance for students.
The anniversary celebration served not only as a milestone for the organization but also as a reminder of its continuing commitment to serve the Filipino community.
As the Bahrain Eagles Club (BEC) looks ahead to another year, its members remain committed to strengthening their brotherhood and reaching more Filipinos through meaningful community service.
