On 21 August 2026, Filipinos in Bahrain convened at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain, Diplomatic Area for the ALSE OF-LIFE Open House for Batch 3.
A total of 63 participants attended, comprising 41 prospective participants who registered into the program and 22 ALSE alumni who shared their valuable experiences and insights. The impressive turnout underscored the community’s increasing interest in leadership, financial literacy, innovation, and social entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the alumni’s narratives emphasized the enduring influence of ALSE on personal development, service, and intentional leadership.
The initiative encourages fellow OFWs to take advantage of the program as an opportunity to gain practical knowledge, strengthen their leadership and financial skills, explore innovation and social entrepreneurship, and prepare for a more purposeful future.
According to Ms. Thess Corral, Lead Secretariat of ALSE OF-LIFE, the gathering offered participants a meaningful introduction to the program, its objectives, and the learning opportunities it provides.
Corral explained that the session aims to encourage more OFWs to join the upcoming ALSE OF-LIFE program, which will officially begin on 18 September 2026. Through the program, participants will gain valuable knowledge and develop their skills in leadership, financial literacy, innovation, and social entrepreneurship.
“We saw the enthusiasm of the attendees throughout the session, and we were happy to have participants confirm their interest and reserve their seats for the upcoming batch,” Corral said.
For the alumni, sharing what they have learned is not only a way of supporting the next batch but also a meaningful way of giving back to the community that continues to inspire their own journey.
Janeth Amistad, a 33-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Bahrain for four years and an alumna of ALSE Batch 145, expressed:
“ALSE provided me with a clearer understanding of my objectives and educated me on being more conscious of my financial management and investment strategies. Beyond the financial education, I discovered the importance of cura personalis, which emphasizes caring for the whole individual. It served as a reminder that success encompasses not only financial wealth but also relationships, purpose, and our commitment to caring for others.”
Janeth’s experience highlights how ALSE helped strengthen her financial awareness while encouraging a deeper sense of purpose and personal responsibility. For other alumni, the program’s impact extends beyond financial literacy, shaping how they approach leadership, service, and their role in the community.
Meanwhile, Edwin S. Gonzales, 47, a Medical Equipment Engineer and ALSE Batch 133 alumnus, shared how much the program has helped him both personally and professionally.
“It taught me that leadership is not simply about having a position or title. It is about taking responsibility, listening to others, and serving with integrity.”
Edwin described how ALSE strengthened his approach to leadership and community service, other alumni reflected on the program’s impact on their financial awareness and personal growth. Together, their experiences show how ALSE goes beyond the classroom, equipping OFWs with practical knowledge while inspiring them to lead, serve, and live with purpose.
