A Filipino resident of Dubai has walked away with AED 5 million, only the third person ever to claim that particular sum in The UAE Lottery’s history. Zenn Ariane Garceles, 38, matched the winning combination that placed her among the game’s small circle of second-prize recipients.
For Garceles, the magnitude of what had happened did not register right away. “I couldn’t even process it at first. I had to ask my husband how many zeros there were,” she said.
Her win lands during a striking stretch for the lottery. Two separate AED 30 million grand prizes were claimed within a five-week span, and Garceles’ payout pushes the total value of these standout wins to AED 65 million over a three-month period. The Lucky Day game alone has handed out upwards of AED 280 million to players since it began.
A representative for the operator welcomed the newest winner. “It’s extraordinary to see another AED 5 million winner emerge after such an incredible run of major prizes. We are delighted to celebrate Zenn Ariane’s win and welcome her to the group of big winners from The UAE Lottery. Every winner brings a unique story, and we look forward to seeing what this remarkable prize means for her,” the spokesperson said.
What Garceles chooses to do with the money remains open, whether that involves personal goals, family, or longer-term plans.
Oversight of the lottery falls to the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority, which regulates the games and their operations.
