Spanish virtual sensation Aitana, an AI model, earns AED40,000 per month in ads

Aitana, a 25-year-old persona revered by gaming and fitness fans, has been captivating both celebrities and brands, albeit with a secret – she’s not real. Created by The Clueless, a Spanish AI modelling agency, Aitana stands as the first AI-generated Spanish model, a virtual persona managed by a team of skilled graphic designers.

Euronews reports that Aitana’s influence is lucrative, earning up to €10,000 per month. She’s the chosen face for BIG Supps, a sports supplement brand, and also contributes significantly through her presence on Fanvue, a platform akin to OnlyFans. Her monthly income averages around €3,000.

Ruben Cruz, the founder of The Clueless, shared with Euronews the inspiration behind venturing into AI models. The agency, facing setbacks due to the unpredictability of human models, pivoted towards a more reliable digital solution. Aitana, designed to be relatable, boasts a personality marked by independence and outspokenness. She represents Barcelona, with interests in gaming and fitness, and is a Scorpio.

Since her Instagram debut in July, Aitana has amassed over 121,000 followers, attracting messages from unsuspecting celebrities, including a famous Latin American actor.

Building on Aitana’s success, The Clueless introduced another AI model, Maia, a young Argentine characterized by her shyness. Maia, a Boca Juniors fan, adds to the agency’s diverse virtual portfolio.

Brands are increasingly drawn to these virtual models for their consistent representation of brand values, without the risks associated with real human endorsers. However, this rise of virtual models hasn’t been without controversy. Critics argue that these models perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards and sexualization. Cruz counters that they’re adapting to the aesthetic demands of the brands, suggesting a need for a broader shift in brand perspectives to alter this trend.
