Travellers booking select Emirates fares to Dubai will no longer face charges when they shift their departure dates, part of a package of measures the airline says is designed to loosen the terms around booking and changing flights.
The waiver took effect August 10 and covers Economy Saver through Flex fares as well as Business Class Special, Saver and Flex tickets. Passengers on these fares can move their Dubai travel dates as often as they like without a change fee, though a difference in fare price may still be charged. Higher-tier products, including Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus and First Class, continue to carry full flexibility.
Cancellation terms have eased as well. Emirates has trimmed refund fees on Dubai flights to $50 for Economy Saver fares and $25 for Economy Flex fares, while Business Class refunds run $50 for Special and Saver tickets and $25 for Flex. No-show penalties are untouched.
Passengers flying elsewhere on the network are not left out. Tickets booked from April 2, 2026, qualify for a single free date change, a benefit that extends to itineraries routing through Dubai. Customers can also lock in a fare for 24 hours at no cost while they sort out their plans.
Alongside the fare adjustments, Emirates introduced a Comprehensive Travel Cover policy it calls an industry first. The plan bundles trip cancellation, baggage delay and loss, unlimited worldwide medical expenses and emergency evacuation, and it folds in conflict cover that reimburses medical costs up to $25,000 and grants a free trip extension of as long as 30 days. The airline noted that its conflict cover operates independently of government travel advisories. Sold across 27 countries, the policy can be added during booking on the Emirates website or attached afterward through Manage Booking.
The airline has also spelled out how it handles disruptions. When flights are affected, Emirates said it arranges accommodation directly for stranded customers. Should connecting services on partner carriers fall through, or Emirates flights become unavailable, the airline said it will rebook passengers to their final destination at no extra charge, a commitment that holds even when airspace closures force cancellations.
Skywards members have a separate set of perks running through August 31. The program is cutting the Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status by 20 percent and awarding a 20 percent Tier Miles bonus on Emirates and flydubai flights. Members can also tap a Cash+Miles rate of 2,000 Miles for $30 — double the reach of the standard $15 rate — when applying Miles toward flights, excess baggage, lounge access or seat selection on either carrier.
