Travelers passing through Dubai International Airport this week can trade time spent idling near their gate for a morning walk through the busiest international hub in the world. On Friday, August 14, DXB will fold itself into Dubai Mallathon, the emirate-wide push to keep people moving through summer’s peak heat, by staging a community walk open to anyone in the terminal.
Two walking sessions are scheduled, the first running from 07:30 to 09:30 AM and the second from 09:30 to 11:30 AM. Both take place at Terminal 3, Concourse B, a setup meant to let people slot the activity around their flights rather than the other way around. Walkers can pick between a 1.5km route or a shorter 750m loop, with airport staff, oneDXB community partners, and transiting passengers all expected to take part.
No sign-up is needed and there is no cost to join. Organizers are directing anyone interested to the Family Zone by Gate B28, where the walk begins. The invitation extends to guests of every age and fitness level, whether they are connecting through DXB or simply waiting out a layover.
The airport’s participation ties back to Dubai Mallathon, the fitness campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, as a way to encourage residents and visitors to stay active during the hotter stretch of the year.
