Pornhub’s 2023 Year in Review has placed the Philippines as the second highest traffic source for their website. This marks a significant rise from their ninth-place position last year, surpassing the United Kingdom which now holds the fifth spot.
The report, part of Pornhub’s 10th annual review, not only highlights global trends in categories, technology integration, and preferences but also provides detailed insights into the viewing habits of different countries. The Philippines stands out in several categories, including the highest average time spent per visit and the largest proportion of female users.
Filipino users, on average, spend about 11 minutes and 15 seconds per visit, a notable increase of 16 seconds from the previous year. A majority of this traffic, approximately 96%, comes from smartphones. The data also reveals that the most popular time for visiting the site is between 11 p.m. and midnight, with the least traffic occurring from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. Interestingly, Monday at 11 p.m. is the peak time for viewership, while Saturdays see the least activity, presumably due to more social engagements during the weekend.
Female viewership in the Philippines is particularly significant, making up 58% of the country’s users—a 5% increase from the previous year and leading the global chart. Colombia matches this proportion, but most other countries, including Egypt, Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada, predominantly have male users.
Globally, female visitors to the site have increased to 36%, up by 1% from last year. Age-wise, the 18 to 24-year-old bracket is the most frequent visitor group, followed closely by those aged 25 to 34, with the Philippines, Brazil, and Egypt contributing significantly to these demographics. The average age of Pornhub visitors worldwide is 37 years old.
The Philippines’ most searched keywords this year were “pinay,” followed by “pinoy” and “Japanese.” Searches also trended towards categories like Japanese, Hentai, and Asian, with specific interests in “hot asian big tits,” “male whimpering,” and “hot asian girl.”
Notably, traffic from the Philippines dips during the Sinulog Festival in January, suggesting a cultural impact on viewing habits.
Globally, preferences varied by generation. Gen Z showed a keen interest in Cosplay, Hentai, Interactive content, and Smoking themes. Gen Y favored Muscular Men, Tattooed Women, Cosplay, and Role Play, while Gen X was drawn to content including Vintage and Transgender themes. Boomers exhibited a preference for Smoking, Transgender, Handjob, and Mature categories.
