The Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC), the leading pop culture festival in the region, is thrilled to announce Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy, renowned for his role in the Netflix series ‘One Piece’, as a major guest for its 2024 edition. The event is scheduled from February 9 to 11, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Godoy, famous for playing Monkey D. Luffy in the live-action adaptation of the popular anime series, has become a global sensation. His appearance in Abu Dhabi is highly anticipated by fans, especially considering the success of ‘One Piece’ on streaming platforms.
At just 20 years old, Godoy’s charismatic and versatile acting has been pivotal in redefining anime adaptations on Netflix. His journey to becoming the face of ‘One Piece’, personally selected by series creator Eiichiro Oda, showcases his immense dedication. He will share his experiences and insights into the making of the series at MEFCC.
The event will also feature other stars like Frank Welker (voices in ‘Transformers’, ‘Garfield’, ‘Scooby-Doo’), Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime in ‘Transformers’), Temuera Morrison (Boba Fett in ‘Star Wars’), and Troy Baker (‘The Last of Us’). Esteemed comic creators like Mark Brooks, Carlo Pagulayan, Stephen Segovia, Steve McNiven, and Mikel Janin will join as well.
MEFCC 2024, held in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, promises a rich fan experience with activities like Meet the Stars, Comic Creators Club, Artist Alley, and a Gaming Arena.
