Dubai workshop teaches Filipino professionals how to build a personal brand online

The Philippine Business Council – Dubai & Northern Emirates has begun a new members’ program built around skills training, opening the series with a workshop on how professionals present themselves online.

Held at B-Hub in Burjuman, the debut Connect & Learn session drew entrepreneurs, executives, and working professionals into a format that departed from the usual lecture setup. Participants worked directly on their own material — phones and laptops open — rather than listening to a presentation.

Filmmaker Melon Perez led the session, titled “Visual Storytelling for Personal Branding.” Co-founder of The Melrish Studio, the award-winning filmmaker walked attendees through decisions that shape a professional’s digital presence: which photos and videos are worth producing, how to film with confidence, and where free AI tools can shorten the content-creation process. LinkedIn profiles came in for direct attention, with participants revising their own during the workshop.

The council has positioned the series as a continuing commitment to member development, pairing practical instruction with opportunities for collaboration among Filipino businesses in the Emirates.

Pinas Group of Companies was among the organizations represented at the launch.
