Getting an employment contract cleared no longer forces Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia to make the trip to a single office in the capital. The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Contract Verification Service has been rolled out at VFS Global facilities in Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah, giving workers in the eastern and western regions a nearby option for the review that Philippine authorities require.
That review is not optional. Contract verification confirms an OFW’s employment agreement meets the standards set by the Philippine government, and it is the gate that must be passed before an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) can be issued. Without a released OEC, a departing worker cannot clear immigration at Philippine airports when leaving for a job abroad.
The service was built through a partnership between VFS Global and DBP Data Center Inc., and it is projected to accommodate roughly 34,500 applicants a year, according to reporting by TravelsDubai on the launch. Workers can reserve a slot and pay online before turning up with their documents, though the centers also accept those who arrive without an appointment. Once the MWO signs off on a submission, the applicant gets an email pointing them to their OEC and verified contract.
Each of the three sites has a fixed address. In Riyadh, the center is at Basement Level, 2591, Al Hada District, next to the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. Dammam applicants report to the first floor of Dammam Lulu Mall on 18th Street, Al Adhamah District, while the Jeddah branch operates from the Ground Floor of Tasheel Commercial Plaza in Al Muhammadiyah District. All three run Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
VFS Global has designed the centers around a handful of features meant to cut friction: longer service windows, live tracking so applicants can follow where their paperwork stands, and secured online payment channels. The Saudi rollout extends a network that already opened in Dubai and Abu Dhabi earlier in the year.
Contract verification is only one piece of what VFS Global handles for Filipinos in the Kingdom. The company also processes Philippine ePassport renewals at three locations and sends Passport on Wheels teams to areas without a permanent center. Its other consular services cover Police Clearance, NBI Clearance Endorsement, notarial and affidavit work, passport extensions, and travel documents.
