Ajman has been named the world’s safest city in terms of residents’ sense of security in the Numbeo Mid-Year 2026 report, leading a strong showing by the UAE, with Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah taking the next three spots. Dubai also placed among the global leaders, ranking sixth.
According to Ajman Police, the recognition reflects years of investment in security systems that combine law enforcement, fast emergency response, community participation and smart technologies aimed at improving public safety and residents’ quality of life.
Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, said the result aligns with the UAE leadership’s long-term direction of strengthening security capabilities through continued investment in modern infrastructure and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
He said Ajman Police has developed a security framework that uses artificial intelligence, predictive tools and big data analytics to prevent crime and enhance operational performance. Under the “Ajman, the City of Safety” system, smart surveillance is integrated with live analytical platforms designed to detect potential threats and support preventive intervention before incidents take place.
Among the measures contributing to the ranking, Al Nuaimi cited tourist patrols, Aman patrols, a building protection programme, anti-crime and anti-drug campaigns, smart traffic enforcement and AI-supported monitoring and control systems.
He also said community policing programmes have strengthened confidence in law enforcement by expanding proactive services for senior citizens, women and people of determination while making police services more accessible.
