UAE included in Indonesia’s new visa-free entry plan for global travelers

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has announced a proposal to offer free entry visas to travelers from 20 countries, including the United Arab Emirates. The announcement was made by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in Jakarta.

This strategic initiative aims to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia, which is expected to have a multiplying effect on the nation’s economy. It will enhance domestic consumption, attract investments, and contribute to the development of the digital economy.

The list of the 20 countries selected for this proposal comprises some of the top contributors to global tourism, such as Australia, China, India, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Japan, Russia, Taiwan, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, along with two undisclosed Middle Eastern countries.

Uno emphasized that the focus is on attracting “quality tourists,” particularly those who are likely to stay longer and spend more in the local economy, thereby boosting the overall economic impact.
