Philippine Consul General in Dubai Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III has congratulated the Filipino Social Club on its seventh anniversary, praising the organization’s record of service to the Filipino community across the United Arab Emirates.
In a message released by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, Enciso extended his warmest congratulations to the club, known to the community as FilSoc, describing the milestone as a mark of seven years of steady commitment to overseas Filipinos. He said the club had provided a platform for unity and cultural pride alongside opportunities for civic engagement and mutual support, and that its programs and partnerships had strengthened community bonds.
“As you mark this anniversary, take pride in the lives you have touched, the partnerships you have built, and the sense of belonging you continue to offer to Filipinos away from home,” Enciso said in the message. He added that the Consulate values the club as a partner in community building and in promoting the welfare and dignity of Filipinos in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
FilSoc was officially licensed on June 24, 2019, making it the first Dubai government-regulated non-profit, non-political and non-religious Filipino group under a license issued by the Community Development Authority (CDA). It was founded by 12 former leaders of Filipino community organizations, two of whom are Emirati nationals. The Filipino Times reported that the club now operates under Federal Decree-Law No. 50 of 2023 and Dubai Law No. 12 of 2017, and is regulated by the CDA and the UAE Ministry of Community Empowerment.
Over its seven years, the club has spearheaded outreach activities, cultural initiatives and community welfare programs. In December 2024, it received the Platinum Award as one of 25 distinguished non-profit organizations recognized under the CDA’s Ethraa Empowerment Program.
Enciso took up his post in early April 2026 as the eighth Philippine Consul General in Dubai, succeeding Marford M. Angeles, who returned to Manila in October 2025. The Consulate has jurisdiction over Dubai and the Northern Emirates, serving an estimated 650,000 Filipinos.
