Dubai Summer Surprises returns for its 29th edition from 2 July to 30 August 2026, packing 60 days with retail discounts, live concerts, raffles, and family experiences under the theme “Make it a Dubai Summer.” Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), this year’s calendar layers thousands of promotions over major prize draws, culinary deals, and citywide entertainment for residents and visitors.
The festival opens with a concert-heavy first weekend running 2 to 5 July. Dubai Hills Mall stages free performances by Emirati artists Saif Al Ali on 3 July and Arqam Al Abri on 4 July, while Mirdif City Centre hosts Iraqi pop singer Rahma Riad on 3 July and Star Academy winner Nassif Zeytoun on 4 July. Mall of the Emirates presents Samratna by Mohamed Al Bakri on 3 July at the New Covent Garden Theatre, the JAFZA One Convention Centre delivers the Assem Sukkar Spacetoon Concert on 4 July, and the Kuwaiti comedy Khairan Resort runs at Dubai Opera from 3 to 4 July.
Beloved mascots Modesh and Dana headline the family programming, appearing across the city through school visits and surprise attraction stops. Modesh World runs at Dubai World Trade Centre from 3 July to 23 August, built around a Fun Zone, Modesh Market, and Family Zone with free access to event grounds, workshops, and performances. The Modesh Scholarship gives shoppers at participating malls a chance to win one of 10 scholarships, each worth AED 20,000.
Several debut experiences anchor this year’s lineup. The all-new DSS Luxe Edition introduces elevated shopping with exclusive previews, luxury pop-ups, and premium hospitality, while a Back-to-School Carnival brings live performances across the city from 7 to 8 August. SME Pop-ups will spotlight homegrown brands, and the DSS Performance Arts Fest stages live shows, parades, and aerial acts at select malls across three weekends from 24 July to 16 August.
The prize draws run large. The DSS Mega Raffles with ENOC offer a 2026 Dongfeng 007 and a share of AED 500,000 in cash until 20 September, while City Walk marks its 10-year anniversary with the Dine Shop Win promotion, awarding AED 50,000 every two weeks and a AED 500,000 grand prize through the Dream Dubai app until 31 October. Jewellery shoppers spending AED 500 can enter to win 3 kilograms of gold, and additional car draws span Dubai Festival Plaza, Mercato Shopping Mall, and Town Centre Jumeirah. The Win Your Home in Dubai campaign, jointly led by DFRE and Dubai Chambers, will award 12 residential units from Binghatti Developers, with a two-bedroom apartment as the grand prize.
Dining returns as a centrepiece. A longer edition of Summer Restaurant Week runs from 13 July to 2 August with curated menus across the city, followed by the fan-favourite 10 Dirham Dish from 3 to 30 August, offering select signature dishes for AED 10 at participating venues.
Live entertainment carries through the season. Beat the Heat returns for a fifth season at Dubai World Trade Centre with Cairokee on 11 July, Dystinct & Issam Najjar on 18 July, Sultan Murshed & Talal Sam on 25 July, Rasha Rizk on 1 August, and Al Shami & Leen Hayek on 8 August, with tickets via Platinumlist. Closing weekend brings Kuwait’s Miami Band to Coca-Cola Arena on 29 August in their biggest staging outside Kuwait, alongside comedian Atul Khatri at Emirates Theatre the same night. The Candlelight Concert returns to Madinat Jumeirah at Mina A’Salam on 11 July, and mall activations include the Madagascar Parade at Dubai Festival City Mall and a K-pop Demon Hunters Pop-Up at City Centre Mirdif from 9 to 19 July.
On the retail side, two major moments frame the season: the Great Dubai Summer Sale, with dates to be announced and discounts of up to 90 per cent, and Back to School from 3 to 30 August. Themed flash-sale weekends will cover gold and jewellery, electronics, beauty and wellness, home and furnishing, and fashion and accessories. DSS Daily Surprises returns with one-day-only offers revealed 24 hours ahead, while the Lucky Receipt promotion rewards shoppers spending AED 300 or more, with 10 prizes awarded daily.
Staycations round out the calendar with nearly a hundred hotel, resort, and attraction deals across five-star, all-inclusive, and budget options, plus exclusive UAE Resident offers. In line with the UAE’s Year of the Family, participating hotels will expand family-focused programming. Fitness fans can join the returning Dubai Mallathons, a series of indoor mall runs combining movement, music, and prizes, complemented by FIFA World Cup-themed activations across the city.
Reflecting on the programme, DFRE CEO Ahmed Al Khaja said: “Dubai Summer Surprises continues to play a vital role in enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for tourism, retail, and family entertainment.” He added that the festival “creates memorable moments across the city while supporting economic growth and strengthening Dubai’s vibrant retail and tourism sectors.”
