Filipino content creator Elma Asagra, known online as Mam Elma, told followers on Tuesday that her seven-year relationship with fellow vlogger Gavin Capinpin — the social media personality Ser Geybin — has ended. She shared the news in a written statement posted to her verified Facebook account.
Asagra framed the decision as something the couple arrived at together rather than a sudden rupture. “Our decision is mutual,” she wrote, adding that the two had spent a long time trying to keep the relationship intact. She pushed back against the idea that their on-camera closeness told the whole story, noting that the pressures they carried away from the lens were known only to them.
A recurring theme in her message was the gap between public assumption and private reality. “What Gavin and I had was real,” she said, rejecting suggestions that the partnership had been staged for engagement. She described a point at which shared feeling can quietly fade, writing that love requires both people to hold it at once.
Asagra also moved to shield others from blame. Without naming the individuals, she said the people whose photos had circulated were friends, and that nothing in those images had been hidden from her. She urged followers not to pass judgment or spread unverified claims, pointing to a stretch of online speculation that intensified around a period she referenced as “Pasan.”
She directed part of the statement to the couple’s supporters, addressed by the fan label ELGA, thanking them for giving her and Capinpin room to absorb the loss before going public. She acknowledged the difficulty of separating in full view of an audience and asked for privacy as the two begin to rebuild separately.
The announcement follows weeks of turbulence around the pair. In early June, Capinpin was hospitalized after struggling to breathe, an episode his family and Asagra linked to accumulated stress, and he returned to vlogging on June 7 to deny rumors of both infidelity and a breakup. In that video he stated plainly that the two had not separated, with Asagra appearing alongside him to confirm his account. Tuesday’s post marks a reversal of that position.
Closing on a note aimed at the people who have followed the relationship, Asagra signaled that she and Capinpin intend to remain on good terms and invited their audience to stay with them as their paths diverge.
