Free parking and extended metro hours: What Dubai commuters need to know this Eid Al Adha

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has laid out a revised operational framework for the Eid Al Adha 1447 AH / 2026 holiday, with changes affecting everything from metro timings to vehicle testing centres.

One of the more immediate benefits for residents is free public parking across the city from May 25 to 29, 2026. The waiver, however, does not extend to multi-storey parking facilities, which will continue to charge standard rates throughout the period.

On the metro network, both the Red and Green Lines will run from 5:00 am to 1:00 am the following day on Saturdays and from Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours are shorter, with services beginning at 8:00 am and closing at 1:00 am. The Dubai Tram follows a similar pattern — starting at 6:00 am on most days, with a delayed 9:00 am start on Sundays, and running until 1:00 am nightly.

Bus passengers should check the S’hail app for the most current schedules during the holiday. Notably, Route E100 will be suspended from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station between May 23 and 31, 2026. Those travelling to Abu Dhabi during that window are directed to use Route E101, which departs from Ibn Battuta Bus Station.

For marine transport timings, the RTA has asked commuters to scan the relevant QR code to access the updated schedule for the Eid Al Adha period.

At the customer service level, RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be shut for the duration of the holiday — with the exception of the Umm Ramool centre, which will remain open around the clock. Smart kiosks in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Al Kifaf, and at RTA Headquarters will also continue operating 24/7.

Vehicle testing service provider centres will be closed from May 26 to 29, 2026, resuming normal operations on May 30 in accordance with approved working schedules.
