Cup of Joe postpones Mindanao tour dates for international awards show

Filipino pop band Cup of Joe has pushed back two scheduled tour stops in Mindanao after receiving an invitation to attend an awards ceremony abroad, concert promoter CNCA announced Sunday.

The band’s Davao and Cagayan de Oro legs of their ongoing Stardust tour — originally set for May 30 and June 13, respectively — will no longer push through on their original dates. In a video posted to social media on May 17, the group explained the reason directly to fans.

“We will be postponing both shows as we have been invited to attend a special awards show outside the country. We hope for your understanding and support as we represent all of you in this milestone moment,” Cup of Joe said.

A new date has been confirmed for the Cagayan de Oro show, rescheduled to September 12 at 8 p.m. at Limketkai Atrium. The band confirmed that tickets purchased for the original date will be honored. Davao ticketholders are still waiting for a rescheduled date, with the band saying an update will follow.

The tour adjustments come just days before Cup of Joe’s next major event: “SANDALI: The Cup of Joe Fest,” set for May 23 at the Philippine Sports Stadium.

The band swept two of the top categories at the inaugural Filipino Music Awards, winning Album of the Year and Song of the Year for “Silakbo” and its breakout track “Multo.” The debut studio album, which contains 10 tracks, was released in January 2025.
