An early morning collision between a pickup and a truck on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road resulted in the tragic death of two men, with two others suffering severe injuries.
The incident was reported to Dubai Police at 5 am on Friday. Preliminary investigations point to the failure of the pickup driver to maintain an adequate distance from the truck, causing the fatal collision.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, the Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, stated, “The pickup rammed into the truck, leading to the unfortunate death of two individuals and severely injuring two more.”
Emergency teams, including first responders and traffic police patrols, were promptly dispatched to the accident location. They provided immediate medical aid and facilitated the transport of the severely injured victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
In light of this tragic event, Brigadier Bin Suwaidan stresses the importance of adhering to speed limits and maintaining safe distances between vehicles. He also warns against the dangers of improper overtaking, sudden swerving, and distracted driving. He further emphasized the vital need for all motorists to consistently follow traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
