Philippine Airlines has pushed back the resumption of its Dubai flights to August 2, 2026, while separately maintaining the suspension of Doha service through June 30 — a reflection of the airline’s cautious read on deteriorating conditions across Middle East airspace.
The Manila-Dubai-Manila route, operating as PR 658/659, accounts for the longer of the two suspension windows. The Doha cancellations cover flights PR 684 (Manila-Doha) and PR 685 (Doha-Manila) through June 30, with an additional cancellation of PR 685 on July 1, effectively pushing the Doha resumption to July 2 at the earliest.
PAL cited risks to critical infrastructure and overall airspace safety as the basis for the move, noting that restricted airspace, sudden closures, and limited routing options have made normal operations untenable on both corridors. The airline acknowledged that operating conditions differ by carrier.
Riyadh flights remain active for now. PAL said it is continuing to monitor the route and will issue immediate updates if conditions there deteriorate.
Passengers on affected flights have three options: rebooking onto another available flight at no extra cost within the same cabin class, subject to seat availability; converting their ticket into travel credits with a 20 percent bonus, processed within 48 hours; or claiming a full refund with no penalties for bookings made directly with PAL. Due to the volume of cancellation-related requests, refund processing is running approximately eight days, with bank posting adding another two to four weeks. Passengers who booked through travel agents must coordinate directly with their agent.
PAL’s Doha and Dubai routes serve among the largest concentrations of overseas Filipino workers in the Gulf, and the extended cancellation windows leave a significant number of OFWs without a direct carrier option on both routes for the coming weeks.
