Filipino arrested in Las Vegas after stabbing roommates over orange juice dispute

A Filipino man is now in custody in the United States following a violent altercation with his housemates that reportedly stemmed from a disagreement over orange juice, according to authorities.

Operatives from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) took Phil John Amazona Yumang into custody on April 28 in Las Vegas. Officials said the arrest came after it was determined that he did not have legal authorization to remain in the country.

Details released by ICE stated that two of Yumang’s roommates were injured during the incident. Investigators said the confrontation escalated into violence inside their shared residence.

In a statement posted online, authorities said: “Phil John Amazona Yumang stabbed two of his roommates during a struggle over orange juice.”

The same statement added: “Yumang, a criminal illegal alien from the Philippines, told police he stabbed one of the victims because they ‘called him a bad name’ during the fight. Yumang admitted he stabbed his second victim because he was angry at him for intervening.”

Yumang remains under ICE custody while legal proceedings tied to his immigration status continue, including possible removal from the United States.
