From 0 to 240 km/h in under 5 seconds: Abu Dhabi ride enters Guinness World Records

Ferrari World Yas Island, Abu Dhabi has added a Guinness World Records title to Formula Rossa’s list of credentials, with the ride officially recognised for achieving the highest speed by a rollercoaster launch. The attraction reaches 240 km/h from a standstill in 4.9 seconds through a single powered launch.

The certificate was handed over by Raafat Tawfik, the official Guinness World Records adjudicator for the MENA region and Türkiye, during a ceremony held at the theme park. Receiving the award were Farid Al Qaiwani, Chief Commercial Officer at Miral, and Vinod Kolani, Deputy GM at Ferrari World Yas Island.

Formula Rossa was built around the concept of replicating the acceleration felt at the start of a Formula 1 race, with the ride’s engineering drawing directly from Ferrari’s motorsport identity. The experience is designed to translate the speed and force of competitive racing into a theme park setting.

The record adds a formal benchmark to what has long been regarded as one of the most extreme thrill rides in operation. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, located on Yas Island, is operated under the Miral group of attractions.
