GCash has extended its waiver on transfer fees for transactions involving the Middle East until April 30, 2026, offering financial relief to overseas Filipino workers and their families as tensions in the region persist.
The initiative covers Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan, who will not be charged for bank transfers to the Philippines, as well as transactions such as buying load and paying bills.
Waived fees will be returned through in-app cashback, with no registration required. Eligible amounts will be automatically credited to users’ GCash accounts, and users will receive an in-app notification once the cashback has been processed.
The program also works in the other direction. GCash users in the Philippines can use the GCash International Transfers feature to send money to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman without incurring standard transaction charges, and with no minimum transfer amount required.
GCash said it will continue to monitor developments in the region and assess whether further extensions of the relief measure are needed.
The fee waiver was first introduced in early March 2026, after tensions in the Middle East escalated significantly. The current extension marks the second phase of the program.
