A total of 170 Filipinos — including 120 overseas Filipino workers and 43 family members — have safely returned to the Philippines from Bahrain, the government confirmed.
The group touched down on the morning of April 17, 2026, aboard a commercial flight that departed from Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Prior to their departure, the OFWs had crossed overland from Bahrain into Dammam to connect with the flight home.
Their return was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Department of Migrant Workers, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the Department of Foreign Affairs, and the Philippine Embassy — operating under the country team approach directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for the repatriation of Filipinos affected by unrest in the Middle East.
Upon arrival, the returnees were provided financial assistance, medical support, and temporary accommodation before onward travel to their home provinces. Reintegration support was also extended to help them transition back into productive lives in the country.
