Social media posts falsely attributing cash aid offers of ₱10,000 and ₱40,000 to a Davao City government agency have been called out as fake news.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office said the figures cited in the circulating posts do not reflect any active program under its mandate. Financial assistance distributed by the office is subject to a structured review process, with social workers conducting verification and validation before any aid is released.
The CSWDO urged residents to exercise caution before sharing unconfirmed information, warning that the spread of misleading content causes unnecessary confusion among the public.
