A video of the UAE national flag flying from a pole near the Burj Khalifa, framed against the tower’s soaring spire through a dramatic upward camera angle, was shared by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on social media — one of the most striking images to emerge from a country-wide push to raise the flag across homes, buildings, and institutions amid recent regional developments.
Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, accompanied the post with a tribute to the UAE’s leadership, describing it as a symbol of glory and honour that continues to shine through the country’s achievements — a nation, he said, that keeps its promises, advances with confidence, and places people at the heart of its progress under the President.
The flag-raising movement was set in motion by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who called on citizens and residents to hoist the national flag as a demonstration of unity and strength. Sheikh Mohammed framed the flag as a powerful emblem of pride and urged it to be raised above every home and building in the country.
In his remarks, Sheikh Mohammed described the UAE as having entered a difficult period standing together and emerging from it stronger, with citizens and residents unified under the national flag. He said the country takes pride in its leadership, Armed Forces, strong economy, and all those who call the UAE home.
