More than 891,000 overseas Filipino workers registered with Pag-IBIG Fund in the Middle East may now access early withdrawals from their savings and seek temporary relief on housing loan payments under a special benefits package approved by the agency’s board.
The package covers three forms of assistance: full early withdrawal of Pag-IBIG Regular Savings before its 20-year maturity, full early withdrawal of MP2 Savings before its 5-year maturity inclusive of returns, and a three-month moratorium on housing loan payments with no interest or penalties charged and the loan term extended by a corresponding three months.
Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta said applications will be accepted online through Virtual Pag-IBIG and at over 200 branches, OFW Centers, and service offices. “We recognize that for this assistance to be truly responsive, it must be made available to qualified members in a manner that is fast, clear, and accessible,” Acosta said. “That is why we will make applications for these benefits available online through Virtual Pag-IBIG, while also ensuring that our more than 200 branches, OFW Centers, and service offices are ready to assist members and their families. In doing so, Pag-IBIG Fund also supports the assistance and reintegration efforts being carried out by the Department of Migrant Workers and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration for affected OFWs. Our goal is to make sure that qualified OFW members can turn to Pag-IBIG Fund for immediate and practical support as they recover.”
Board chair and DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, citing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive for a whole-of-government response to the Middle East crisis, described the timing of the approval as appropriate given the ongoing repatriation of conflict-affected workers.
“Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. upang maibsan ang epekto ng gyera sa ating mga OFWs, maaari nang ma-access ng ating mga bayaning OFWs ang kanilang Pag IBIG Fund savings kung kakailanganin nila ngayon,” Aliling said. He added: “Ito po ang ambag ng Pag IBIG Fund sa hangarin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. para sa whole-of-government approach sa pagtulong sa ating mga bayaning OFWs.”
Pag-IBIG Fund data as of February 2026 show the agency’s OFW membership in the region is concentrated in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, with 86,234 enrolled in the MP2 savings program and 40,024 carrying active housing loans.
Office-based branches accept transactions from Monday to Friday, while mall-based branches operate Tuesday to Saturday, alongside the Virtual Pag-IBIG digital platform.
