Abu Dhabi’s popular Yas Waterworld is set for a significant expansion, announced today by Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations. The expansion, covering 16,900 sqm, is scheduled for completion in 2025 and aims to increase the park’s capacity by 20%. It will feature 18 new rides and attractions, bringing the total to over 60 experiences.
The expansion highlights include the UAE’s highest slide and the GCC’s first amusement ride integrated within a waterslide complex. This ride features a 15-meter drop and can accommodate 20 guests simultaneously, promising an unmatched thrill.
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, expressed pride in this project, viewing it as a step towards establishing Yas Island as a premier global destination for entertainment and leisure. He emphasized the contribution of this expansion to Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification and its growing status as a global tourism hub.
Yas Waterworld, renowned for its storyline based on the UAE’s pearl-diving heritage, is introducing a new adventure, ‘The Lost City’. This addition will offer guests a journey of discovery through hidden treasures and secret passages, enhancing the overall experience.
The expansion will also cater to all ages, with features like a swim-up bar, high-thrill boat ride, various slides, and family raft rides. Importantly, it includes scaled-down versions of popular rides for younger visitors, like a mini-Dawwama and mini-Boomerango.
Yas Waterworld is part of Yas Island’s diverse attractions, including Ferrari World Yas Island, Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, and the newly opened SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
