Two vehicles, a car and an SUV, were engulfed in flames on Wednesday morning in Dubai South. The blaze, reported at approximately 10.50 am, was swiftly addressed by the Dubai Civil Defence team.
Responding with remarkable speed, firefighters reached the scene within four minutes of the report. Their efficient action led to the fire being extinguished in just 10 minutes. Despite their efforts, both vehicles suffered extensive damage, being completely gutted by the fire.
Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, as the civil defence has not provided specific details.
In light of this event, vehicle owners are reminded that comprehensive vehicle insurance in the UAE generally covers fire damages. To claim these damages, a police report must be submitted to the insurance company. Those with third-party insurance can also claim damages, provided the parking facility is covered under an applicable insurance scheme.
