MWO-Dubai flags fake repatriation fixers preying on OFWs

Fraudulent operators are targeting Overseas Filipino Workers with offers of paid repatriation assistance, prompting the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to issue a formal warning through Advisory No. 11, Series of 2026.

The office said it has received reports of individuals and groups soliciting fees or personal information from OFWs in exchange for help with the Department of Migrant Workers’ Repatriation Assistance Program — services that the government provides at no cost through legitimate channels.

OFWs who need repatriation assistance are directed to contact MWO-Dubai’s Assistance to Nationals section directly through the following hotlines: 056-353-5558, 054-223-0822, and 056-153-3057, or by email at atn.mwodubai@dmw.gov.ph or repat.mwodubai@gmail.com. OWWA-Dubai can also be reached at 050-558-5536 or dubai@owwa.gov.ph.

The advisory specifically cautions workers against transacting with unauthorized agents or unverified social media accounts, and warns against sending money or disclosing personal information to anyone outside official government channels.

Repatriation requirements and guidelines are published on the MWO-Dubai website at mwodubai.org and on its official Facebook page at facebook.com/MWODubaiOfficial. The DMW maintains its own resources at dmw.gov.ph and facebook.com/dmwphl.

The MWO is asking workers who encounter suspicious activity to report it to the office immediately.
