Cathay Pacific extends Dubai flight suspension through end of April

Cathay Pacific has pushed its Dubai flight halt further into the year, with the Hong Kong carrier now keeping the route dark through the final day of April.

“In view of the developing situation in the Middle East, all Cathay Pacific flights to and from Dubai have been canceled up to and including 30 April 2026,” the airline said in a statement Wednesday, adding that further schedule adjustments remain possible in the days ahead.

The extension builds on a pattern of rolling cancellations. Cathay had already pulled flights to both Dubai and Riyadh in March, itself a continuation of earlier suspensions tied to the ongoing regional conflict.

The war’s financial pressure is showing up elsewhere in the airline’s operations. Cathay doubled fuel surcharges this month across most of its network as oil prices climbed, and rival Hong Kong Airlines raised its own fuel surcharge Tuesday — the second increase in just over a week.

Demand patterns are shifting alongside the disruptions. Cathay previously noted a broad uptick in bookings, particularly on long-haul routes, as travelers seek itineraries that bypass Middle Eastern transit hubs. The carrier added extra Europe-bound flights in March to absorb that surge.
