A domestic worker from Kuwait summed up the mood simply upon landing in the Philippines on Wednesday: “Mabilis po ang pagtulong sa amin at masaya po ako na makikita ko na ang aking pamilya dito po sa Pilipinas.”
The remark came from Rowena Baya, one of 70 overseas Filipino workers and their dependents who returned home on March 19, 2026, through two separate repatriation flights — one from Qatar and another from Kuwait.
The Department of Migrant Workers said assistance was in place for the returning workers upon arrival, supporting them until they could rejoin their families.
The agency added that the welfare and orderly return of Filipinos caught in the unrest across the Middle East remains a government priority.
