A Certificate of Commendation was formally presented to the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai on Monday during a flag-raising ceremony at the Department of Migrant Workers Central Office, recognizing the post’s continuous operations in response to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac led the awarding rites on March 16, 2026. Assistant Labor Attaché Jeane R. Mendoza accepted the certificate on behalf of MWO Dubai.
The commendation acknowledged the office’s 24/7 ground operations and its role in facilitating what the DMW described as the safe, orderly, and dignified return of Filipinos to the Philippines — language consistent with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s standing directive to extend continuous protection to Filipinos caught in the regional conflict.
To date, 442 Filipinos from the United Arab Emirates have been brought home through a DMW-chartered flight, conducted in coordination with the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. More than 200 of those repatriated were overseas Filipino workers.
