Filipino organizations in Riyadh distribute iftar packs amid regional uncertainties

Nearly 600 iftar packs reached fasting individuals in central Riyadh on March 13, 2026, as two Filipino organizations joined efforts to mark the holy month of Ramadan through direct community outreach.

The Knights of Rizal Central Region Chapter (CRC), KSA and its women’s auxiliary, Las Damas de Rizal, mobilized officers, members, and volunteers to hand out ready meals to passersby at sunset — the daily moment when Muslims break their fast.

Organizers acknowledged that the activity pushed through despite ongoing uncertainties across the region, a point they cited as a reflection of both groups’ dedication to sustained civic engagement.

Lady Dr. Irene Tanael, LOR, PRO, chaired the initiative and was among those recognized for her role in the preparation and execution of the outreach. Las Damas de Rizal President Lady Divina I. Asug, LPR, acknowledged the contributions of officers, volunteers, and sponsors who made the distribution possible.

Las Damas de Rizal describes itself as an independent organization committed to empowering women through charitable and community-centered work rooted in the ideals of Dr. José Rizal, functioning as the women’s auxiliary of the Knights of Rizal.

With Ramadan in its final days, both organizations called on the community to continue their prayers and acts of devotion during the remaining days of the sacred month.
