23 OFWs home after Singapore Air Force carried them out of Jeddah

Government agencies were on hand at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 when the last of 23 Overseas Filipino Workers arrived from Singapore late Monday night, completing a repatriation effort that began with a Singapore Air Force flight out of Jeddah.

The workers came home in two batches aboard Cebu Pacific flights. Fifteen landed in the afternoon on Flight 5J818, while the remaining nine touched down around 10:00 p.m. on Flight 5J806.

The Department of Migrant Workers, led at the airport by NCR Assistant Regional Director Maria Theresa C. Sanz, coordinated with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Manila International Airport Authority Medical Team to attend to the workers upon arrival.

The repatriation was made possible through the combined efforts of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, the Migrant Workers Office, and OWWA, which handled the welfare and logistics needs of the group during their transit in Singapore.
