An airport long criticized for its infrastructure and passenger experience is now drawing positive attention internationally.
The Ninoy Aquino International Airport has landed on two separate 2026 lists compiled by Airport Parking and Hotels, a United Kingdom-based travel authority — one recognizing its food offerings, the other its lounge affordability.
On the dining front, NAIA placed 7th globally with 131 restaurant and café options available to travelers. Singapore’s Changi Airport led the rankings with 247 dining establishments, followed by airports including Chicago’s O’Hare International, Tokyo’s Haneda, and Indonesia’s Soekarno-Hatta International.
New NAIA Infra Corp., the private consortium managing the airport, attributed the recognition to recent expansions in its food and beverage lineup, including newly opened dining halls and concepts. “We’re not slowing down. More exciting food options are on the way!” the company said.
On affordability, NAIA ranked 6th among airports with the most budget-friendly lounges, with an average access price of £18.80 — roughly P1,491.
The Department of Tourism said the back-to-back inclusions “underscores the importance of ongoing modernization efforts” at the country’s main international gateway.
