Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus tops P1 billion in member discounts

More than 30 million discounted transactions have been recorded under the Pag-IBIG Fund’s Loyalty Card Plus program, with cumulative savings for members now reaching P1,005,583,149.75 across a network of 507 partner establishments nationwide.

Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, who chairs the Home Development Mutual Fund’s board of trustees, said the program demonstrates how government and private sector cooperation can produce concrete, day-to-day benefits for workers.

“Especially at a time of global uncertainty, when every peso counts, this program helps our members make the most of their hard-earned income. This is fully in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that the government delivers meaningful and timely assistance to our fellow Filipinos,” Aliling said.

The card program, first introduced in 2014, was originally designed to give Pag-IBIG members access to merchant discounts and special offers. Five years later, the agency expanded its scope by launching the Loyalty Card Plus variant, which incorporated cash card functionality through Asia United Bank and Union Bank of the Philippines, allowing members to receive loan proceeds and use basic banking services through the same card.

Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta credited partner establishments and banking institutions for helping the program evolve beyond a transactional benefit.

“Through the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Program, our members are able to feel the value of Pag-IBIG Fund not only during major transactions, but also in their daily lives through tangible savings on essential expenses, in keeping with our mandate to serve Filipino workers,” Acosta said.

Partner establishments are spread across all major regions, with 162 located in the National Capital Region, 155 in Luzon, 85 in Mindanao, and 55 in the Visayas. By category, health and medicine establishments make up the largest segment at 189, followed by food, restaurants, and groceries at 114, housing-related merchants at 20, and fuel and transportation at five.

Total card issuances — covering both the original Loyalty Card and the Loyalty Card Plus — have reached 15,170,992.

Acosta said a digital version of the Loyalty Card Plus is set to roll out before the year ends. “As we roll out the Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus Digital within the year, alongside the continued availability of the physical card, we are making the program more accessible, more secure and more convenient for more Filipinos,” she said.
