Cebu Pacific extends Middle East flight cuts to March 17

Dubai-bound and Riyadh-bound travelers face nearly a week of further disruptions after Cebu Pacific cancelled additional Gulf flights stretching from March 12 to March 17, the budget carrier’s eighth advisory since the Middle East security crisis began.

The Manila-Dubai route carries the heaviest load of cancellations. Flights 5J 14/15 are grounded on every day from March 12 through March 17, with 5J 18/19 also pulled on March 13 and March 16. The Riyadh route sees fewer but still significant cuts — flight 5J 740 from Manila is cancelled on March 13, while the return leg 5J 741 from Riyadh is scrapped on March 14.

Passengers holding tickets on affected flights, as well as those with Dubai or Riyadh bookings through March 31, have until two hours before their scheduled departure to rebook for free or convert their ticket to a Travel Fund through the Manage Booking portal on CEB’s website.

The airline acknowledged the situation remains fluid. “As this remains a developing situation, further schedule adjustments may take place,” Cebu Pacific said in the advisory issued at 8:00 p.m. on March 11.

Travelers are urged to keep their contact details current on their bookings to receive real-time flight notifications, and to monitor the airline’s official social media accounts for further updates.
