The Qatari government has introduced a temporary measure allowing visitors to remain in the country beyond the validity of their entry permits as flight disruptions continue across the region.
Authorities confirmed that all categories of entry visas that expired or are nearing expiration from February 28 onward will be extended for one month. The move comes as airspace restrictions linked to the ongoing Israel-US-Iran conflict have complicated outbound travel.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the renewal will be carried out automatically through recognized electronic platforms. Affected individuals are not required to submit applications or visit government offices, and no charges will be imposed for the extension during this period.
However, travellers who accumulated overstay penalties before February 28 must first pay the applicable reconciliation fine. Once the outstanding amount is settled, the automatic extension and exemption from fees will apply starting from the stated date.
Officials said the situation remains under close observation, adding that further action may be introduced depending on how developments unfold to maintain the legal standing of both residents and visitors.
The ministry also advised the public to remain indoors except when absolutely necessary, avoid windows and open areas, and follow safety directives issued by competent authorities to protect public welfare.
