UAE denies international media report questioning its air defense strength

The United Arab Emirates has dismissed a recent Bloomberg report, describing it as inaccurate and misleading in its portrayal of the country’s military preparedness.

In a formal statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the article contained “false and misleading claims” regarding the nation’s advanced defensive capabilities. The ministry characterized the assertions as “unfounded,” adding that they distort the country’s level of preparedness, technological strength, and operational capacity.

Officials outlined that the UAE operates “diverse, integrated, and multi-layered air defence systems, capable of countering a full spectrum of aerial threats with high efficiency.” These systems, they explained, include long-, medium-, and short-range platforms designed to deliver “comprehensive protection of the nation’s airspace.”

The statement further noted that the country maintains a “robust strategic stockpile of munitions, ensuring sustained interception and response capabilities over extended periods.” Authorities emphasized that operational forces remain at full readiness to protect the state’s sovereignty and security interests.

According to the ministry, safeguarding the well-being of citizens, residents, and visitors is an “absolute priority,” with defence infrastructure and national security mechanisms described as stable and fully intact.

The ministry also underscored the importance of responsible journalism, calling on media organizations to confirm information with official sources before publishing reports it described as inaccurate.
