Bahrain reports missile strike on US Fifth Fleet base as Gulf states come under attack

The service hub of the US Fifth Fleet stationed in Bahrain was struck by a missile Saturday, the Gulf kingdom confirmed, as the wider region absorbed the fallout from exchanges between Israel, the United States, and Iran.

Bahraini authorities moved quickly to address public anxiety, with the Ministry of Interior issuing practical guidance for residents to designate an easily accessible room in their homes stocked with essential supplies for use during emergencies.

The ministry later issued a follow-up statement asserting that conditions across the kingdom remain under control, while stressing that maintaining security and public order depends on the cooperation of both citizens and residents. The Bahraini National Contact Center echoed that message, directing the public to official channels as the sole reliable source of information.

Bahrain was not alone in absorbing the impact of the regional exchange. The UAE confirmed it had successfully intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles fired at the country, though one Asian national died as a result of the attack — the first confirmed civilian fatality reported in the Gulf amid the escalating strikes.
