You can now order PSA birth and marriage certificates through GCash

Filipinos can now secure official civil registry documents without leaving the GCash platform, following a new collaboration between the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Ayala-led fintech company.

Through the PSAHelpline Mini App embedded inside GCash’s GLife section, users may request birth, marriage, and death certificates, along with Certificates of No Marriage (CENOMAR) and Certificates of No Death (CENODEATH), using their mobile phones. The initiative also involves service provider Pilipinas Teleserv.

The integration positions GCash as the first e-wallet in the Philippines to host PSAHelpline services and to provide downloadable PDF versions of civil registry records within its system.

“The PSA Helpline Mini App within the GCash app simplifies how Filipinos request civil registry documents by integrating secure requests and payments into a trusted digital platform. This partnership reflects our vision of a citizen-centered and digitally enabled government that delivers faster, more convenient public service to every Filipino wherever they may be,” said PSA National Statistician, Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa.

GCash said the rollout supports wider access to documentation, particularly for individuals outside major urban centers. Cleo Celeste Santos, Vice President and Head of Public Sector at GCash, underscored the broader goal of digital inclusion.

“By making essential civil registry documents easier to access, we are helping more Filipinos participate in the digital economy and access the opportunities they deserve,” Santos said.

Apart from the in-app request feature, the PSA continues to offer its E-Certificate Service via PSAHelpline.ph. Applicants may complete an online form, settle payment through available channels, and undergo identity verification. Once approved, a digital copy may be transmitted to the applicant’s email, often within the same day, according to Mapa. The electronic document may then be shared with employers, schools, government offices, and other institutions.

“Issued certificates are authentic and carry the full legal weight of a traditionally issued document,” Mapa said.

Pilipinas Teleserv Managing Director Jun Yupitun emphasized the security features attached to the electronic files.

“100 percent po ang guarantee natin that the digital product in PDF form is tamper-proof. We signed a private key to it,” Yupitun added.

Under the updated system, birth, death, and marriage certificates are priced at P290 each, while CENOMAR and CENODEATH documents cost P345 per copy.

Despite the expanded digital options, the PSA confirmed that traditional services will remain available, including walk-in applications and door-to-door delivery for those who prefer printed copies.
