A bogus email account posing as the head of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is being used to circulate fraudulent overseas job offers, prompting the agency to issue a public advisory.
The DMW clarified that the email address casdacdmw.gov.ph@gmail.com does not belong to Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and is not recognized by the department. Officials said the unauthorized account has been falsely presenting itself as a legitimate channel to promote employment opportunities abroad and to handle documents supposedly required for overseas deployment.
According to the agency, the use of such an email may mislead overseas Filipino workers and their families by spreading incorrect information and creating the impression of official endorsement. The department emphasized that it does not authorize private or unofficial accounts to advertise foreign job openings or process employment-related paperwork.
The DMW urged the public to immediately report suspicious job offers received through email or social media platforms to the department or appropriate authorities. It also cautioned individuals against engaging with unverified entities to avoid falling victim to scams.
For official announcements and verified updates on overseas employment, the department advised the public to rely only on its official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/dmw.gov.ph and its website at https://dmw.gov.ph/.
The DMW Public Assistance Desk may be reached for immediate concerns at (02) 8722-11-44 and (02) 8722-11-55.
