A Filipino national’s long-term participation in the Dubai Duty Free promotions has finally paid off in a spectacular fashion.
Roland Arceo, a 46-year-old Sharjah resident, has emerged as the proud owner of a BMW S 1000 R (M Package) motorbike. Arceo, who has been consistently buying tickets for the Dubai Duty Free promotion for the last 18 years, struck gold when his ticket number 0389 was announced as the winner in the Finest Surprise Series 555.
The draw that changed Arceo’s fortunes was held on Wednesday at Concourse D of Dubai International Airport, an event he attended as a photographer. The surprise win was a dream come true for Arceo, an employee of Dubai Duty Free for 19 years. His joy was palpable as he expressed his disbelief and gratitude, thanking Dubai Duty Free for the unexpected prize.
In the same series of draws, Anil Gianchandani, a 60-year-old Indian national and a shipping manager based in Sharjah, won $1 million in Millennium Millionaire Series 439. Gianchandani, who hails from New Delhi, is now among the 219 Indian nationals who have won $1 million since the inception of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999. A regular participant for two years, Gianchandani shared his excitement and looked forward to sharing the news with his family.
The draws were overseen by Dubai Duty Free’s top executives, including Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, and were followed by many eager participants and onlookers.
