Filipino educators celebrate globalized education at Bahrain convention

The Philippine Teachers Association-Bahrain (PTA-B) marked a significant milestone with the 5th Educators Convention held at Ramee Grand Hotel, Manama. The event gathered Filipino educators to honor and promote their role in global education.

The Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, HE Ann Jalando-on Louis, attended as a distinguished guest, commending Filipino teachers for their educational contributions and ongoing support of the Embassy’s initiatives. Mr. Ric Advincula, President of the Filipino Club – Bahrain, also expressed his high esteem for the educators’ work in the country.

Dr. Katerin Ledesma, the keynote speaker, emphasized the teachers’ vital position in international education, aligning with the theme “Aspirations, Transformations, and Directions.”

The convention’s pinnacle was the presentation of the “Most Outstanding Filipino Educator 2023” award to Dr. Karen Bansolay for her exceptional achievements. The event also recognized educators with 5, 10, and 15 years of dedicated service in Bahrain. Additionally, Dr. Arturo Basbas received the “Excellence in Leadership” award.

Dr. Junifer Abatayo, PTA-B President, underlined the organization’s role in fostering professional development among Filipino teachers. PTA-B’s vision is to persist in its mission to innovate and support the professional growth of its members.
