Two Indian nationals arrested in Laguna drug sting; P233.2 million in suspected cocaine seized

Authorities intercepted more than 40 kilograms of suspected cocaine during an anti-drug operation in Calamba City before dawn on Saturday, with the haul estimated to be worth P233.2 million.

According to an exclusive report by Bea Pinlac on GMA News Online, operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Capital Region Southern District Office conducted a buy-bust that led to the arrest of two Indian nationals at around 2:30 a.m. in Villa de Calamba, Barangay La Mesa.

Investigators said the transaction centered on two kilograms of suspected cocaine placed inside a brown paper bag, which was presented as the item for sale. During the operation, authorities also discovered an additional 42 kilograms of suspected cocaine stored in an open carton box at the scene.

The confiscated substances have been turned over to the PDEA Laboratory Service for forensic testing to confirm their composition.

Aside from the suspected drugs, law enforcers seized marked money used in the operation, a brown paper bag that contained the buy-bust cash, a mobile phone, and the passports of the two suspects.

The operation was spearheaded by PDEA Regional Office–NCR Southern District Office, working alongside the PDEA Regional Office 4A Laguna Provincial Office, the PDEA RO-4A Regional Special Enforcement Team, and personnel from the Calamba City Police Station.

Authorities identified the suspects only by their aliases, “FiveSIx,” 30, and “Ali,” 32, both described as businessmen.

They are set to face charges for alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
